What is amniotic membrane treatment?

Prokera and CAM360 from BioTissue are FDA-approved cryopreservered amniotic membrane tissue used to treat various corneal conditions, to help with anti-inflammation, anti-scarring, and promote healing on the front surface of the eye. The amniotic membrane is provided by a tissue bank that undergoes rigorous quality testing and regulated by the FDA. 

What can it be used to treat?

Prokera is a cryopreserved amniotic membrane supported by a soft ring worn under taped lids for 1-3 days. It must be removed by your doctor. CAM360 is a similar ringless version that dissolves on its own in roughly 48 hours. Your doctor will discuss which option is best for you during your visit.
